The Unique Experience in San Francisco Everyone Should Try

Quite possibly the neatest thing I did in San Francisco was take a trip to the Golden Gate Fortune Cookie Factory. Although this doesn’t really qualify as a food stop, I think it’s worth a trip for any foodie or really anyone who is in or visiting the Bay Area.

📍 Location: 56 Ross Alley, San Francisco
💰 Price of custom fortune cookie: 1 for $2 or 2 for $3.50
⏳ Vibe: quick stop, in-and-out

After walking up some serious hills, I found myself in an alleyway with a bright yellow sign out front:

I was delighted to find this tiny little treasure, I know it’s a spot a lot of people know about, but as a first timer in SF, I was super excited and had never done anything like this.

Upon entry, I was handed a fresh fortune cookie right off the cookie press. And to my left found instructions on how to make my own custom fortunes!

At $3.50 to write out 2 of my own fortunes that were pressed into fresh cookies is absolutely worth the money and the trip to chinatown.

The Highlights

Value – Very good price for unique experience and fresh cookies.
✅ Free taster – Upon arrival they hand you a fresh un-folded cookie to eat.

Any Downsides?

Traveling with these could be tough. I got scared I would break mine but it does come in a little container.

Final Verdict – Would I Recommend It?

Absolutely! This was a super fun pitstop along my route in Chinatown that created such a core memory for me. Such a fun and unique experience. If you’ve been to Golden Gate Fortune Cookies Co drop a comment below!
