If you’re on social media, you’re no stranger to the latest food trend: the Chili’s Triple Dipper. The internet has been buzzing about Chili’s since the viral 2015 “Hi, Welcome to Chili’s” Vine, and recently, the restaurant chain has stirred up another frenzy—this time in the TikTok community.
The Triple Dipper is a customizable trio of appetizers selected from a list of menu favorites, including mozzarella sticks, sliders, and their signature Chicken Crispers. And don’t forget the $6 Margarita of the Month! It’s flavored to the season, and January is the Resolution Breaker. Naturally, I had to see if the triple dipper is worth the hype for myself!
Why the Triple Dipper Is Everywhere Right Now
I did a little digging to understand what makes the Triple Dipper so popular, and here’s what I found:
1. Social Media is Everything
The Triple Dipper has taken TikTok by storm, racking up over 200 million views. I saw a lot of mozzarella sticks on my for you page before I caved and needed to try it myself! This viral exposure has introduced Chili’s to a massive demographic of people. In addition, content creators, especially those making mukbangs on TikTok and YouTube, have also fueled the trend like crazy!
2. Marketing Genius
Chili’s has leaned into the trend by launching limited-edition Triple Dipper merchandise. Yes, you read that right. They launched Triple Dipper-themed bedding, eye masks, and socks in December 2024. During my research, I also discovered that Chili’s has a regular merch store with hats, shirts, stickers, and even onesies.
3. Jaw-Dropping Sales
Here’s a stat that blew my mind: the Triple Dipper now accounts for 11% of Chili’s total sales. That’s a huge piece of business for one menu item and clearly shows the popularity of it. And as if that weren’t enough, they’ve introduced new mozzarella stick flavor — Nashville Hot.
The Review
First off, I think these Triple Dippers owe a lot of their fame to one thing: Chili’s makes some seriously amazing mozzarella sticks.
I got a triple dipper with the new Nashville Hot Mozzarella Sticks, Big Mouth Bites (burger sliders), and Honey Chipotle Chicken Crispers. The platter comes with 2 mozzarella sticks, 2 big mouth bites and 3 chicken crispers. This combination truly feels like a chili’s best of all appetizers trio.
Starting from least to best. The Chicken Crispers weren’t really hitting the way they used to. My chicken was a bit tough. I got 3 little crispers in my triple dipper and I only ate one. It didn’t seem worth it to eat the tough chicken. But usually, I am a super huge fan of these chicken crispers. I won’t deduct too many points off my experience for this because I only tried one location. (benefit of the doubt people!!)
Next up, the Big Mouth Bites. These are a Chili’s trademark, and with good reason. I really loved my big mouth bites, I wish there were more (can we get 3 big mouth bites and 2 crispers, Chili’s?). They were super tasty, seasoned delightfully and the burger had a good char. I loved the bun too, super fluffy.
Last but not least, THE Nashville Hot Mozzarella Sticks. These we’re AMAZING! The Nashville Hot seasoning isn’t too spicy to the point where it takes away from the mozzarella stick experience. It is the perfect amount of spice (coming from someone who doesn’t love super spicy things). AND THAT CHEESE PULL!! Just wow. These we’re completely worth the hype in my opinion. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about them since I’ve had them.
Final Thoughts
The combination of TikTok virality, marketing, and exciting flavors has made this Chili’s classic a trending topic for a reason.
I honestly would come back here for a triple dipper any day of the week if it wasn’t $18. The Nashville Hot Mozzarella Sticks were definitely worth the hype. I seriously remember there also being honey chipotle mozzarella sticks – Mandela Effect?? But my Chili’s did not offer that so I just got the Nashville Hot.
Is it worth the hype? Yes! The food itself is worth trying in the triple dipper, since alone it can be costly.
Worth the price? Maybe not. But for the $18, I was full after.
I think if you are going for taste, go to Chili’s and if you’re looking for value, just stick to half apps.
